Our goal is not only see the Five Bells re-opened, but to see it transformed in to a clean, friendly local pub that is an asset and a value to the village.

Our plan is to see the Five Bells become a hub of the village offering a wide range of sports and social activities and as a user-friendly place for groups and associations to meet and, of course as nice place to meet with friends for a drink.

The two-bar layout of the Five Bells is perfect for a real village pub. The front bar will be a comfortable lounge while the back bar will have pool, darts, skittles and a jukebox. The pub will still lend itself to house events, quizzes, discos and watching the cup final, plus we plan to re-open the kitchens to serve a light menu and bar snacks.

The plan to achieve this calls for the following actions:

  • Re-educate the village as to the importance of a local pub
  • Gather information on clubs, teams, organisations and villagers who will use the pub.
  • Gather pledges from tradesmen and locals to help with refurbishing the interior.
  • Prepare a detailed and feasible business plan to put to the brewery and a potential tenant.

It is undisputable that the challenge to re-open the Five Bells is a massive undertaking, but with the support and commitment of the village, it is an achievable goal.

Please join us and pledge any support you can to save the Five Bells.
